A Green Analytical Method Using Polyurethane Foam for The Extraction and Determination of Lauryl Ether Sulfate in Personal Care Hygiene Products

A green methodology was developed for the extraction and determination of lauryl ether sulfate in raw materials commercial liquid soap shower gel samples. The method avoids use organic solvents, offering a simple, cheap, safe analysis. is based on sorption an ionic pair consisting cationic dye anionic surfactant onto polyurethane foam. experimental variables were optimized by chemometry to obtain conditions that maximized pair. Digital imaging spectrophotometry used quantification linear concentration range from 10.0 100 mg L-1. limits detection were, respectively, 2.71 9.28 L-1 digital imaging, 1.74 5.83 spectrophotometry. methods showed good results when applied samples, with recoveries 96.8-103%.
